Mini albums are my go-to when I want to create something but am struggling with direction and flow of a project. They are simple to put together and the canvas is small enough that I don't have to be overwhelmed with supplies and papers.
I kept it very simple with this album and built my base pages using two pieces of white card stock. I trimmed four 5x5 squares from each paper to give me eight pieces of card stock. I originally thought about adding watercolors to each page, but I tried that one on square and didn't really love that look. I am definitely craving bright white and clean edges right now, so keeping the pages neutral worked best for me.
I added the title "LOVE" onto the front page using the transparent alpha from the Studio Calico Hello Hello kit. I sewed along each letter to add a little texture to my cover.
I chose to stick with small black & white photos and pops of gold on each page. (I swear the gold is much more vibrant and bold in person....it definitely didn't photograph as well as it looks. Don't you hate that??)
Here, I used the negative of the gold labels, also from the Hello Hello kit. A small doily, tags and my photo adorn the top of the page.
I finished the book by sewing a little pocket to add in several tags and journaling cards. I always love having pockets and envelopes scattered throughout my mini albums. It adds an interesting, interactive element to albums, I think.
Just wonderful (and like you, I'm craving that clean look that only white gives!)
