Maggie Holmes Design Team

I am so excited to finally announce my newest adventure!!!  When Maggie emailed me a while back asking if I would like to be a part of her design team I nearly fainted.  :) Maggie is my idol and I am humbled that she would want me to be a part of her team.  It's no surprise that I am a big fan of her and her amazing products.  It's going to be an awesome year, that's for sure!!

I'm joined by three other super talented women, all who I greatly admired.  Jessy and Kim are two of my very favorite scrapbookers and artists and Amanda is the bees-knees when it comes to packaging, parties and crafts!!

happy news: crate paper

i am so excited to finally share this awesome news!  i am thrilled to announce that i am a part of the 2014 crate paper design team.  i have been a long time fan of everything crate makes.  and when they partnered with maggie holmes to create a collection, well, i was in heaven.  i love the soft and vintage feel of some crate's lines.  when i have time to create "just because" i often find myself gravitating towards the crate paper collections.  being on their design team is like a dream and i am so grateful for this opportunity.

i recently got to play around with a few of their new collections for CHA.  here's a quick look at my projects using the boys rule collection and the oh darling collection.

thanks again to crate for allowing me to be a part of their team.  i'm looking forward to an awesome year.  i told you 2014 was going to be amazing!

happy news 2014: garden girl

i remember exactly where i was sitting when i opened an email from kristina nicolai-white (owner of two peas in a bucket).  i was sitting on a bench at the playground while my kids were running crazy. i sat in shock for quite a while.  was she serious? did she really want ME to be a part of her team? am i even "good" enough to be a garden girl?  what if all of my great ideas were used up in 2013??  (i did well over 400 projects in 2013.  that's a lot of creative juice.)  what if my juices ran dry?

there was so much doubt and fear and worry.  but also lots of excitement, giddiness and pure joy. it is truly a dream come true to be a part of two peas in a bucket.  seriously.  i am so honored to have my picture up there with all of these ladies.  i've admired these designers forever and to be a part of this group means the world to me!

i'm not even sure how many people read this blog.  are blogs becoming a thing of the past??  i sure hope not.  i love blogs.  i love keeping a blog and i love visiting others' blogs.  so if you are out there reading this, i hope you will come along on this journey with me.  it's definitely going to be fabulous!!  here's looking to an amazing 2014!

elle's studio: october gallery

it's the 10th of the month and that means that a new design team gallery is up at elle's studio today!!  

the october kit is awesome this month and i had so much fun putting together my project life week using the kit.  the colors are perfect for this time of year.

this month's kit features 24 journaling and embellishment tags! there's also brand new cut files that coordinate with the monthly kits!  how fun is that???  and just to make it that much sweeter....every order in october ships with something good to eat!!  did somebody say trick or treat??

gossamer blue: project life week 36

the october kits at gossamer blue are just amazing.  i know i've said that many times before, but this month really blew me away.  lots of crate paper, glitz, pebbles and amy tan goodies!!

for week 36 of my project life album, i really wanted to use as much of the crate paper close knit ephemera and close knit paper pad as i could.  i just love some crate paper and this collection is just divine!!  

lots of tags and goodies on this spread.  some weeks i feel like i add lots and some weeks i keep it pretty simple.  it usually depends on my mood when i'm putting my week together.  but that's what i love about this project.  you can totally make it WHATEVER you want....and then you can change it all up again the next week!

glitz design: wild & free blog hop

happy thursday everyone and welcome to the september edition of the glitz blog hop!!  you're probably hopping over from noel's amazing blog.  so glad you are here!!

this hop is all about the beautiful wild & free collection...which also happens to be one of my very favorite collections!!

i've made many a project using this collection so i have to admit that i was a little stumped when i sat down to create something.  i wanted to share something fun and different and i'm not sure if my motivation was just totally missing or what.

then, as i was shuffling through the lovely wild & free papers, i saw the fun watercolor drip paper and thought how cool the drips looked coming down the page.  so i grabbed out my scissors and followed the drips.  in the end, i had this gorgeous piece of paper all trimmed out and ready to be the background for my page.  i finished my layout with a dark contrasting ribbon, a few embellishments and a title cut from my cameo.

elle's studio: september design team gallery

the september design team gallery is now live over at elle's studio.  i went a little crazy with the new penelope collection.  i joked with elle that she must have made that collection just for me.  it has all of my favorite colors......i just love it!!

jot magazine: issue 2

glitz design: back to school...

 hello friday!  where did you come from? '

does it seem like summer is passing us by or is that just me??

preschool is on our mind here and that's perfect for glitz design this week!

it's all about "back to school" at glitz and there is nothing more that i love than my children's artwork.  my daughter is an avid drawer and she either paints or draws me awesome pictures each week.  it's usually a picture of mermaids or a family of mermaids, which is her favorite right now!!!

so...in honor of "back to school" week at glitz, i decided to document a few of her favorite drawings!!

too cool....*elle's studio*

the august design team gallery went live over the weekend at elle's studio!  it's pretty awesome!  and i've been dying to share this adorable layout of my sweet son!!  there is nothing i love more than a banner of tags.  and that was the inspiration for this page....that and my cutie pie son!!

i started this page with the idea of creating a sewn banner along side my photo.  i originally used the full 12x12 photo, but opted to trim off part of the photo in the end to help the vertical banner stand out a little more!!  i stamped a few sentiments onto vellum and sewed everything together using the regular settings on my sewing machine.  once i had a pretty garland, i hot glued the whole thing into place!!  so fun!!

have you tried sewing your own garland or banner???  you should!  it totally adds so much to a page!!
