december daily days 1-7

i shared my first pages from my december album on the chic tags blog this weekend, but i wanted to post them here so i could keep them all together and easy to find.

these photos include my title page/folder and days 1-7.  i'm not necessarily working on them each day.  i usually do a few days at a time.  i think i'm better doing several at once rather than one at a time. :)

i'll be back next week with another december daily post!  stay tuned!

write.click.scrapbook: december gallery

hello december!
i can't believe it's already here…although the wait for thanksgiving seemed too incredibly long!!

since it's the first of the month, there's ton to share with you!!

first up is the december gallery at write.click.scrapbook.  this month is all about "holiday traditions" and i documented one of our favorite traditions, which is making christmas ornaments for our family and friends.

here's a look at my layout...

i love those gold star rub-ons from chic tags.  they worked perfectly for a little pop on my background!!  the glitz design "hello december" stickers were perfect underneath my paper layers!!

here are a few detail shots...

there are two sketch challenges running right now in case you have a little extra motivation and want to participate!!  both of the sketches are super fun!  i always love to play around with sketches.  when i start out, i always try to "stick" to the sketch, but in the end, i ALWAYS change things around.  that's the fun part about sketches, though!  you can play around with them and use your creativity to make something beautiful!!

this is my layout for the sunday challenge at chic tags!  you can see the full sketch here, as well as play along!  link up your projects in the comments section to be entered to win a prize pack!!

and this is my layout for the sketch challenge at write.click.scrapbookhttp://www.writeclickscrapbook.com/write_click_scrapbook/.  click here to see the full sketch and play along!!  be sure to upload your projects to the w.c.s flickr gallery so we can all ooo and ahhh over your beautiful work!!  :)

chic tags & freckled fawn fun...

hi and happy monday!  i feel like i've been gone forever!

my sweet girl and i took a quick trip to nyc this past weekend to see a show and shop!  it was fabulous and i loved spending that one-on-one time with her.  she is amazing.

so now i'm back and ready to take on november and december!!

today i wanted to share two fun layouts with you!  chic tags and freckled fawn did a product swap recently and i had so much fun playing around with the november chic tags kit and the october ohdeerme kit from freckled fawn.  so many beautiful elements!!

here are my two layouts...

"so glad you're mine"

for this layout, i wanted to show off those awesome flair and extras from the chic tags november kit and the ohdeerme kit.  i started by layering the woodgrain paper from chic tags on my background and then added my photo with a few paper layers and journaling cards.  to finish the page, i grabbed my hot glue gun and adhered some buttons, tags, flair and wood veneer.  so fun!!

here are a few detail shots…

"candid moment"
for this layout, i wanted to keep a somewhat monochromatic look to the page with a few pops for color from the accent pieces and tags.  and of course that beautiful gold "love" paperclip!!  i started by creating a grid with my photos on the page and then filled in the empty spaces with embellishments.  to add a subtle touch to the background, i used some of the gold rub-ons from chic tags (my fave!!).

and here are some detailed shots...

thanks so much for joining me today!!  have a happy day!!

my new favorite.....the pier

the pier is maybe my favorite collection.  ever.  i don't know if it's the colors, or maybe the way the papers make me feel.  kind of like a breezy summer night.  regardless, i love every bit of it.

i've had a little time to play around and here are some of my most recent projects.....all using the pier.

happy honeymoon...

my husband and i got married and honeymooned in st. john, virgin islands.  this picture was taken of cruz bay as soon as we got into st. john.  how lovely is that???  truly paradise!!

i wanted to keep the main focus on my photo, as i added it to the center of my page and then trimmed the picture with fun little pops of embellishments.

i typed my journaling up using my typewriter and decided to add it to some twine, which i wrapped around my paper layers under my photo.  it's a fun little way to add some texture and interest to the page without overdoing it, i think.

cool....

my main goal for this page was to get those plastic alpha from the pier collection on this page.  sometimes i don't even add titles or thickers, so knowing that i wanted to include these letters made it a little challenging for me at first.  i finally decided i loved the way they looked over the paper layers.

and once again, i just had to finish off the page with some fun embellishments from the pier collection and studio calico, as well as some tags from chic tags.

what about you?  have you gotten your hands on the pier yet?  it's pretty awesome!  grab it while you can!

happy monday!
